Museum & Pollinator Habitats
The primary funding stream for the "Mill Creek By The Mile" project will come from businesses located along or near the Evendale section of the Mill Creek. These businesses can cover the cost of their financial commitments, and/or collect donations from their customers and/or employees. Those businesses that support the project in a more substantial way will earn sponsorship rights to different portions of the project, or even the project itself. For example, a business that was willing to step forward and purchase a large commercial wood/brush chipper for us could earn naming rights to the project for up to five years. In theory, a large corporation with a large customer base could earn naming rights to the project, even though all of their contributions came from their customers, and not the corporation itself.
Financial commitments could provide sponsorship of other aspects or portions of the project including being named as the sponsor of a major pollinator habitat planting, a sponsor of the wildlife photo collection which will be viewable online, or even a bench or other memorial.
Of course, all financial supporters will be listed and promoted on the web site, and select supporters could be promoted on one or more of the Facebook posts that will be made each day.
The second primary funding stream will be where the organization raises support by providing specific services throughout the community. One of these services would be leaf collection, because that way we will generate revenue while collecting a valuable resource for creating pollinator habitat. Another possible service will be to have workers or volunteers install pallet shelving for homeowners, or customers who rent public storage units. See images here.
Grants - Of course we will not turn down collaborating on any grants that a project like this might help one of the local Mill Creek conservation organizations acquire.
