Mill Creek By The Mile: Project Details
The following is an outline for this project, followed by a brief summary. Click on any of the headings for further details about that topic.
Project Goal: The primary purpose of this project is to remove all of the invasive plants from both sides of the Mill Creek where it runs through Sharonville and Evendale, Ohio. Read more . . . Funding: The primary funding for this project will come from the support of local businesses (their employees, vendors, and customers) that are located on or near this section of the Mill Creek. Read more . . . Time Frame: This project will be funded at one rate until it is completed (estimated one to two years), and at a lower rate to maintain it on an ongoing basis. Read more . . . Getting Started: In order to begin this project, we will need access to the first site(s), and a total funding commitment of as little as $1000 per week (necessary to initiate workers comp policy, and cover basic costs). It could all happen so easily . . . but only if you get involved, even if only in a small way.
These are but a few of the benefits that would come from having this project completed:
1. The project will draw positive attention from across the state, across the region, and across the country.
2. It will likely motivate others to initiate similar projects throughout southwest Ohio and beyond.
3. It will raise awareness about the Mill Creek, and what a crucial role it plays in our area. This will make it easier to get support for other projects along the Mill Creek, and motivate people and businesses to take better care of this amazing asset.
4. It could very well be the beginning of a major beautification of the entire commercial area in Evendale and Sharonville.
